Understanding the meaning of salvation

SATAN'S GREATEST DECEPTION, I believe is to get you and I to believe that if we live a good moral life, a good neighbor, faithful spouse, good parent, faithful to church, pray and read our bible faithfully, etc. that after death we will stand before God with, like an imaginary balance scale, will say it's alright, come into my heaven. But according to the Bible, it's all wrong. scales of good and bad

Eph 2:8-9,
8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Rom. 3:10 As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one:

Rom. 3:12 There is none that doeth good, no not one;

We feel guilty because we have been taught not to sin. Our conscience causes us feel bad so we may pray, or turn over a new leaf, or make a new resolution, but what happens? We still have a problem!!! Isaiah was one of the greatest prophets of God in the history of mankind but, according to Isaiah 64:6, by his admission, said, "But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away." And Jeremiah, another great prophet of God, in Jeremiah, 17:9, by his admission said "The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"

Rom 3:23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. To be good enough, or righteous enough to go to heaven on our merits, we would have to be as good and as righteous as Jesus Christ himself, and we all know that we come way short of that.

Rom. 6:23 The wages (penalty) of sin is death. (Notice sin is singular. It is important to understand that this is spiritual death) When Adam rebelled against God and ate of the fruit of the tree of knowledge and evil. God drove them from the Garden of Eden and placed the curse of death (spiritual death) on him. We know Adam physically lived over 900 years .

Rom 5:12 Wherefore, as by one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned:

Rev 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.

Rom 5:8 But God commendeth (proved) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

Rom 10:9-10
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

The question is, if the Lord Jesus Christ is willing to accept you just as you are, right now, are you willing, by simple faith, to ask him to forgive you for your sins and save you?

If you need help, simply pray, "Dear Heavenly Father, I know I am a sinner. I believe you died on the cross for my sins. Please forgive me of my sin and save me, in Jesus name. Amen"

If, or I should say, as soon as you repent and accept Jesus Christ as your savoir, there is rejoicing in heaven.

Luke 15:10 Likewise, I say unto you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner that repenteth.

Now that you have received the Lord Jesus Christ as your personal Saviour, God had done some wonderful things:

  1. Jesus has received you into the family of God.
You are now a child of God
John 3:36 He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:
  2. You have received eternal life as a gift.
Rom 6:23 But the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
  3. You have been saved from and eternity in Hell and a home in Heaven. (glory to God)
Rom 10:13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.

And much, much more!
